Residence I Macchiaioli
The "I Macchiaioli" compound is situated on a hillside overlooking the sea. On clear days, one can see the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago; in fact, the 180° view ranges from the island of Gorgona to the Argentario peninsula, and all the way to Sardinia and Corsica. Situated on the slopes of the Chioma protected parkland, the residence offers visitors strikingly romantic sunsets. The entire area is enclosed, with automatic gates and intercoms at the entrances – providing greater security for guests. The estate comprises a flower garden and grove extending over a small hillside, as well as a vast vineyard. Slightly raised and overlooking the Etruscan coastline below, a stunning swimming pool and large solarium create an ideal contact with vastness of the sea. An ever-present breeze provides a relaxing and recreational atmosphere in the two barbecue areas.
The garden also provides parking spaces for guests, as well as storage space for bicycles and motorcycles.
The completely renovated building complex was once a typical 16th century farmhouse, as is apparent from the visible arches and original symmetrical stone stairways, which lead to a small loggia. Rising two floors above ground with a mansard, the building’s main façade features a typical element of rural Tuscan architecture, its red coloured mortar recalling ancient Tuscan limestone blended with red grape marc.
