The special care and attention towards our guests also extends to our respect for the environment and safety in health and hygiene.

Respect for the environment

1) All rooms at the PARIS are efficiently managed and make use of a modern energy saving system. When guests are not in their rooms, the microchip on the key passes this information on to the system, which automatically switches off the lights and electrical appliances in the room – with the exception of the mini bar – and sets the air conditioning system to the centrally programmed minimum temperature. When guests get back to their rooms, they can manually modify the air conditioning settings.

2) The hotel’s air conditioning system makes use of the latest state-of-the-art technology, with eco-friendly gases that do not harm the atmosphere’s ozone layer.

3) Bath towels are changed at the customer’s request. In each bathroom, guests find an informative note specifying that they should leave any towels they wish to have changed on the floor, and leave any towels they feel they can still use on the towel racks – this avoids excessive washing and helps us respect the environment.

4) All of the hotel’s linen is washed by a certified laundry service using sophisticated water filtering and recycling systems to help protect waterways and groundwater. Detergent products employed are not animal tested and respond to current regulatory norms in force.

5) The hotel staff and personnel are committed to collecting all paper products used within the structure’s various departments - while fully respecting customer privacy regulations - and consigning them to the municipal recycling authority.

6) Effective architectural design and special furnishings have allowed for the use of energy saving lamps, part of an ever attentive effort to safeguard the image and atmosphere of the rooms and all common areas.

7) Printer toners and cartridges are disposed of through an authorised and certified recycling company, adhering to regulatory standards.

8) The hotel structure employs a two-room septic tank system, avoiding any dispersion into the ground. Waste is disposed of by a certified company.

9) All discarded technology materials are disposed of through a specialised service that is certified and authorised by the City of Florence.

10) Hotel cleaning products rigorously adhere to EEC standards, free of any substances that may be harmful to people’s health and the environment. Furthermore, products are dosed internally – thus saving on the use of plastic containers.

Safety, health and hygiene measures

01) Ventilation systems are sanitised twice a year, for the wellbeing of guests with allergy conditions.

02) The hotel structure adheres to fire-protection standards.

03 Clean linen is stored in separate spaces from outgoing dirty laundry.

04) The breakfast room is subjected to HACPP bacteriological inspections. Periodic analyses are conducted by an authorised and certified company.

05) The entire hotel structure is constantly monitored against the intrusion of parasites and insects that may be harmful to human health.

06) Hotel staff are trained and prepared to face fire-fighting and emergency crisis situations.
