The special care and attention towards our guests also extends to our respect for the environment and safety in health and hygiene.
Respect for the environment
1) All rooms at the Hotel Atlantic Palace are efficiently managed in terms of energy savings. Two special automation systems control air flow and temperatures both when guests are in their rooms and when they are away – allowing for a certain amount of autonomy nonetheless.
2)Lights and technology systems are disabled when guests leave their rooms – thus minimising energy waste.
3) The air conditioning systems are intentionally oversized, and thus never reach their operating limit – providing energy savings. These systems make use of the latest state-of-the-art technology, with eco-friendly gases that do not harm the atmosphere’s ozone layer – fully respecting the terms of the Kyoto Protocol.
4) The hotel’s linen is washed by a certified laundry service using sophisticated water filtering and recycling systems to help protect waterways and groundwater. This service employs only detergent products that respond to current regulatory norms in force and have not been tested on animals.
5) The hotel staff and personnel are committed to collecting all paper products - while fully respecting customer privacy regulations - and firstly recycling them selectively within the establishment’s various departments before consigning them to the municipal recycling authority.
6) Effective architectural design and special furnishings have allowed for the use of energy saving lamps and the latest generation LEDs, part of an ever attentive effort to safeguard the image and atmosphere of the rooms and all common areas – as expected from a hotel establishment of this quality.
7) Printer toners and cartridges are disposed of through an authorised and certified recycling company, adhering to regulatory standards. In addition, we use the latest generation of printers, which guarantee a high output while consuming less ink.
8) The hotel structure employs a two-room septic tank system, avoiding any dispersion into the ground. Waste is disposed of by a certified company.
9) All discarded technology materials are disposed of through a specialised service that is certified and authorised by the City of Florence.
10) Hotel cleaning products rigorously adhere to EEC standards, free of any substances that may be harmful to people’s health and the environment. Furthermore, products are dosed internally – thus saving on the use of plastic containers.
11) Water used for cleaning WCs and fixtures is mixed with air so as to obtain the same results but employing less tap water.
